Deal High Pedestrianisation

Deal Town Council has just sent out a brief consultation leaflet to all households in the town asking whether people would like to see the Saturday (10.00 am to 14.00 pm) pedestrianisation scheme continue.

Introduced during lockdown, the scheme was very popular as it allowed for social distancing but also made the shopping experience for most much more pleasant. The legal measures for the lockdown closure are due to end in February and, if it is to continue into the future, the Town Council needs to show that they have consulted and have public support.

Mainly aimed at those who live or work within the Deal town area, there is also a category (“Other”) in the questionnaire for those who live near but shop in the town or who visit.

You can find out more and make your views known by visiting Deal Town Council’s website (www.deal.gov.uk). Closing date for responses is 15 March 2022.
