Your local Green Party is standing candidates in all four of the seats where it came top runner up in the May 2019 local elections, marked * below. This means most of the district wards where Greens are standing have previously been held by Conservative candidates. In May 2019, Greens won 10 town council seats in 2019 and just missed winning a district council seat by 5 votes, in Eastry Rural.
In 2023 Greens are hoping Conservatives will win fewer than 16 seats on the 32 seat council and lose control of DDC. The hope is for a more multi-party district council, more ready to listen to local voters. Because with the many problems besetting us all, we need change, and new Green councillors who check their facts, work cross-party and initiate practical action can provide that change.
8 of Kent’s district level councils benefitted from having some Green voices in the 2019 – 2023 period, with 23 cllrs working hard and doing all they could to achieve the best for their communities. It is time for change on our Dover district council, change that includes voices speaking for Green values that will benefit our communities.

But our party keeps growing steadily and we welcome new members!
